21 Oct From a Kitchen Table Start-Up to Winning Gold
Global Lab eXpert Group (GLXG), is proud to announce that its founder and owner, Bronia Thomas, has won Gold in the UK’s Best Businesswomen Awards for Best New Business 2025. This prestigious accolade recognises Bronia’s remarkable leadership and GLXG’s extraordinary journey, from a Lichfield – UK kitchen table to an award-winning company serving clients across around the world in just 18 months.
Bronia launched GLXG in April 2024 with one clear mission: to give healthcare professionals and patients access to trusted diagnostic tests from Susa lab, one of the highest quality labs in Europe that brings with it decades of experience, research and scientific advances to help uncover previously undiagnosed or complex health conditions.
“I am so thrilled to receive this award that has recognised the hard work that the team and I have put into this business over the past 18 months. For me this work is so rewarding because I know first-hand how life-changing it is for patients to access specialised tests that go beyond the standard options that most nationalised healthcare services around the world provide. The answers our lab test reports provide can literally transform patient lives and their future health-span as well as life-span. This award tells me that the work we are doing is on the right track and to keep going.”
The company’s growth has been nothing short of remarkable. From late nights at a kitchen table packing kits to send to people in need, to now leading a nine-strong team in under 18 months, Bronia, her GLXG team and the lab technicians at Susa lab (Germany) now supports healthcare professionals and patients around the world including the Europe, Nordic countries, North America, and the Middle East.
For Bronia, this success is as much about people as it is about business. She credits her dedicated team for their tireless commitment and expertise, often logging in late at night or on the weekends to ensure that a patient has the support they need.
“Yes, the team I hired have a great skill set, and the business benefits enormously from that. But the reason that each one of them got the job, is because they all have a strong sense of care and compassion and want to make a difference in the world. So many businesses I have worked in focus on the bottom line, on the money, and I know the private medical and diagnostic industry is no different as commerciality is key to a business’ survival, but what I want to instil in all who work with me is that GLXG are working together for one goal: to help the patient. And when you have a team focused on care first, not money, that’s where the magic of human connection happens. That’s where a business becomes not just good but great. I want GLXG to be known not just for quality of lab testing, but the humanity that we also believe every patient deserves.”
With its mission to make advanced diagnostic testing smoother, faster, and more accessible, GLXG continues to grow with the same values it began with: trust, care, and a determination to make a difference.
